Phase 1 of the trail extends from the Guemes Island Ferry Dock to the Store and north to the "Community Campus" including the Church, the Labyrinth, the Library, and the Hall, making all of these facilities accessible from the ferry via a safe, non-motorized pathway.
GIFT team members, Christie Simonton, Deb Strathman, Jack Hartt, and Lorrie Steele pose with a donation from a most generous donor. We are honored that Roseann Torkelson, a long-time Guemes Island resident, chose the trail as a way to honor her late husband, Dean, who was walking in Seattle when he was fatally struck by a motorist.
We continue to be grateful for our generous donors. Without your continued support, the vision of a safe path connecting the ferry landing to Schoolhouse Park will never become a reality. You have been extremely patient and giving. Those of you who have already donated time and/or money are our heroes! Your continued support keeps our spirits high and fuels our perseverance and continued progress. Thank you!
GIFT falls under the Guemes Island Library’s 501 (c) 3 status
