Fundraising

The GIFT team continues to raise awareness and participate in fundraising opportunities. We've routinely had a booth/table at island events for visibility, information sharing, and  Q&A, in addition to fundraising. At these events, we also capture the names and email addresses of folks who wish to stay informed of trail progress by subscribing to our newsletter. 

Some of the fundraising events we've participated in include the 4th of July in the Park celebration, Summer Music Series at the Park/Stage, Guemes Island Harvest Festivals and Art Tours, etc. We've even formed our very own kazoo band and marched with our supporters in the ever-popular Guemes  4th of July parade, wearing our trail T-shirts (of course!).

We've raised money by offering beautiful trail T-shirts, stunning watercolor notecards,  heavy-duty knitted "scrubbies" (for all kinds of clean fun), clip-on bicycle safety lights, homemade trail/energy bars, painted rocks, colorful "pocket purses" with RFID protection, delicious Lopez ice cream, and sturdy and colorful upcycled feedbag totes for donations. We've raffled hanging flower baskets, quilted wall hangings, and Christmas trees with hand-felted ornaments.  Most of these items were handmade by generous and talented islanders and donated to the trail - THANK YOU!

The Guemes Island Ferry Trail team is working diligently, with your support, to make this trail a reality!
